This swimming pool refurbishment project was undertaken for a family who loved using their pool and sauna during winter, however the pool was showing signs of age and problems were becoming apparent, including a number of leaks and the presence of green algae.

To restore the pool, the Pure Blue team undertook a full refurbishment. This included removal of all finishes, replacing plant room equipment and service pipes, as well as the installation of new pool accessories. The new pipes and installation of a textured pool liner in an urban grey design helped to solve the leak issues.

The existing corner pool steps were in poor condition, so were updated to ensure safe and easy access for the family. A split ladder was a new addition, positioned above and under the pool, to enable the operation of the new solar slatted pool cover, hidden in an underwater cave. The contemporary cover was installed to help protect against evaporation and heat loss, while naturally heating the pool’s water on sunny days.

As part of the transformation, the pool surround was also given a makeover with porcelain tiles and pool copings replaced with bullnosed porcelain. The sauna was also relocated to the existing pool house to provide a space for the family to enjoy all year round.
