The owners of a 17-year-old mosaic tiled swimming pool contacted the Pure Blue team as they were concerned about the condition of their pool which had deteriorated over the years. Tiles had come off in several places and the pool had developed leaks. They therefore needed Pure Blue to identify the leaks and propose options to refurbish and repair the pool.
Pure Blue carried out an initial inspection of the pool. This included pressure testing all lines from the plant room to the pool, which not only uncovered leaks on one of the skimmer lines, but also on the main drain line.
A full swimming pool refurbishment was required to get the pool back up and running. To solve the failing mosaic tiles a heat welded reinforced pool liner was installed. This option made the pool look brand new and provided a decorative finish. Another benefit of the liner is the ten-year warranty giving the family peace of mind.
As well as the missing tiles, the old-style concrete coping stones were looking outdated in comparison to the natural slate paving surrounding it. To ensure the pool’s surrounds complemented the work done on the main shell and fittings, Pure Blue suggested replacing the dated concrete copings with bespoke slate ones which were made to match the existing slate paving. This provided a coherent and contemporary feel to the outside of the pool transforming the entire area.
